GLOBAL ALLIANCE SEGUROS

MOZAMBIQUE

In 2001 Andrew and Robert Lewis purchased a struggling Mozambique composite insurer called Companhia Geral de Seguros de Moçambique (CGSM) which was the group’s first investment into the African insurance industry.

The company had 11 employees of which 5 were expatriate and it was turning over +- $2million in Gross premium per annum. After 10 years of phenomenal growth and setting a standard that could not be emulated by our competitors Global Alliance was approached by the Barclays banking group to buy out ICE’s 100% shareholding and the sale was completed in 2012.
