ROBERT LEWIS

Robert began his career in 1990 when he joined Irish and Company Stock Brokers. In 1994 he became one of the youngest members of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and was subsequently made a partner of the enlarged firm of Irish Menell Rosenberg.

In 1998 Robert sold his 26% shareholding in Irish Menell Rosenberg to the Appleton Group. In January 1999 Robert started South Africa’s first on line Stock Broker U-Trade Securities which later merged with the Appleton Group in January 2001 in a deal which formed South Africa’s largest private client Stock Broker. The transaction resulted in Robert selling his 49% share holding in U-Trade. In 2001 Robert bought into Baronscourt and together with his brother Andrew bought 100%  Companhia Geral de Seguros de Moçambique S.A.R.L.. (CGSM) and the ICE Insurance Holdings Group was formed.

In 2003 Robert was responsible for establishing GA Angola Seguros and became CEO , a position he held until disposal in 2013. Robert established ICE Insurance Mozambique in 2015 and sits and has sat on the boards of all ICE’s insurance and technology investments. He is currently the Executive Chairman of Askari Insuretech, CEO of ICE UK and SA and maintains a non executive seat on the board of Kindle Insurance Technologies.

ANDREW LEWIS

Andrew started his career with IGI Insurance Company in South Africa as management trainee in 1988.being seconded to IGI Botswana in 1990 as a property and casualty underwriter. In 1991 he moved to England where he attended the CII College of Insurance, qualifying with an ACII. After completing his studies, Andrew worked in the London Insurance Market firstly as a London Market Underwriter and then as a Director of a Lloyd’s Broking firm. After six years in the London market, Andrew left England and returned to South Africa to start the Baronscourt Group.

In 2003 Andrew together with Robert Lewis merged CGSM, Baronscourt, Kindle Insurance Technologies, Selene Re-Insurance to form Global Alliance Holdings which recently changed its name to One Alliance Limited.

Andrew was appointed the Managing Director of Global Alliance Mozambique in December 2007 and in September concluded a sale of the company to ABSA/Barclays Bank. Andrew is currently, with a management team, registering a Reinsurance Company in London known as One Re Limited focused entirely on African Risk. Andrew continues to serve on numerous Company Boards both as an Executive and Non-Executive Director.

JANE NEWTON

Finance Director

Jane began her career in 1987 as an articled clerk with KPMG Harare and completed her articles with KPMG Johannesburg and qualified as a financial accountant in 1991. Between 1991-1998 she ran the full finance function for Standard telephones and Cables Harare. In 1998 Jane joined  Origen Commodities as their finance manager. In 2004 Jane established own business importing, marketing, and distributing French Champagne into South Africa. Inc2013 Jane became the  Financial Manager of Reitech SA Pty Ltd.

From 2018 to date: Group Finance Director- Ice Insurance Holdings Group – Insurance and Fintech industries. Overseeing the Financial management for many group companies. Establishing and setting up of new companies, accounts and controls. Hiring and training of finance staff. Staff management for the Group. Assisting in new projects. Regulatory compliance. Budgeting and forecasting. Audit management and liaison for the Group.

KAY WILKINSON

Head of Global Programs

Kay joined the insurance industry in 1983 in South Africa.  Specialising in PA and Employee Benefits and then progressed to commercial and corporate underwriting and marketing.

Having worked at four of the largest insurance companies in South Africa, she ventured into an innovative enterprise of pre loss assessing and was a co-founder of the company, which was sold to a reinsurer 4 years later when she then joined Marsh McClennan.  In 2006 jay re-entered the underwriting sector joining International Commercial and Engineering (ICE) Insurance heading up the global program division which was a new concept in Africa. Through Kay’s exceptional insurance and technical skills, exceptional customer service and key relationships Kay developed the concept in Africa which many have copied.  Kay is based in London giving her easy access to international brokers, Risk managers and global program insurers.  Kay is a director of ICE Insurance services which is licensed and regulated by the PRA in the UK.
