Global Alliance was registered and licensed in 2005 and authorised to write property and casualty insurance.
The company focussed on large corporate multinational business. Ghana proved to be an incredibly tough market due to various reasons such as a regulator with limited capabilities and limited understanding of insurance and re-insurance, reckless risk taking from local insurers with little or no re-insurance, xenophobia, corruption, weak banking and very limited insurance broking skills, None the less despite these challenges Global Alliance rapidly grew its book and became the insurer to multi nationals that required international credibility ,skills and responsibility.
